Tokay is one plan with the whole team included, no per-message fees, no share of bookings. HostBuddy's reported $7 to $12 looks small until you add the PMS underneath it, which it cannot run without. Hospitable's Host plan alone is $29 for one listing; Hostaway is reported at $80 to $175 a month for one to four.
No PMS, no setup project
Tokay connects to your listings in about ten minutes, nothing to install. HostBuddy is only available to hosts who already run a supported PMS, so a host without one buys two products to get one inbox answered.
Where HostBuddy stops
HostBuddy is a messaging layer and nothing more. With it, the host still does by hand:
- Pricing: no morning review, no recommendations, no undo. Tokay's Ivo does this daily and you approve.
- Expenses and bills: no slip photos to records, no late bill alert. Tokay's Angela does both.
- Cleaning: no nightly brief, no update when a late checkout is agreed at 9 PM. Tokay's Sam rewrites the brief when plans change and cleaners are reached on LINE.

Questions hosts ask
Can I use Tokay with HostBuddy? Tokay connects to Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo directly; it does not plug into HostBuddy or into a PMS. You would not need both: Tokay answers guests and runs the back office in one place, without a PMS bill underneath.
Does Tokay need a PMS like HostBuddy does? No. HostBuddy only works on top of Hospitable, Hostaway, Guesty or a similar system as of October 2026. Tokay connects to the booking platforms in about ten minutes and works on its own, so most hosts under 25 listings never need a PMS.
